Can I have a design put on a hat of my own, rather than buying new hat from Belle West?
Yes. We will paint on any hat, even a new one purchased elsewhere. Providing that the surface of the hat is without blemishes or any coating that will not allow the paint to adhere, Scotch Guard, for example. We do assess an additional concept and hat preparation fee of $30 for any hat not purchased through us. Also, any hat not purchased from Belle West will void the portion of our guarantee that allows for refunds in the case of a flawed hat.

How do I choose a design for my hat?
Any stock design can be painted on a hat of your choice. We will not allow for duplication of any custom hats. Our customers have worked with us to design a concept that is unique to them.

Can I have wording added to my hat?
You may have words added to your hat, but you may be limited by the font and size that can be used. In some cases, color choice may also be a consideration. You will approve in writing all initial and subsequent changes to your custom design.

What kinds of designs can be painted?
Any design that is not copy-write protected. Before we put paint to hat, we provided you with a graphic to approve and sign. We want you to be 100% satisfied with your new creation so we involve you in every step to provide you with the best possible result.

How do you determine price?
We simply charge you for the retail cost of the hat and the time it takes for developing a concept design and painting time. See our description of time class on the Hats In Stock page.

How many colors are available?
Any color can be matched. In a small amount of cases, a color may vary due to the color of hat it is painted on. We ask that you send or bring in the color that is your inspiration, be it a piece of fabric, magazine add, or color swatch from the painting isle.

Can you paint a picture of my animal?
Of course! Our artist is a top notch illustrator. She can paint from any photo of your horse, cow, dog, favorite bucking bull or horse, etc. You may even consider having your brand or a scene of your ranch. See the custom page and the I'ts Magic hat.

What part of the hat do you paint the design on?
Front, side, top, bottom, back, tilt of brim, all sides. In short, any where goes!

Can you do any color of Swarovski crystals?
Absolutely, we can buy any of the several dozens of colors available. Be aware that it may add time to your order.

How are the crystals attached to the hats?
Primarily by heat transfer. However, some colors and sizes attach better by fabric glue.
